CSRD quick check: From when are you required to prepare a CSRD report?

The first companies will have to prepare a sustainability report this year in accordance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) for the 2024 reporting year. Step by step, additional companies across Europe will become subject to reporting requirements. With our CSRD Quick Check, you can find out whether and when your company has to report.

G

ood intentions alone are no longer enough; companies must present their sustainability efforts clearly and transparently and comply with the legal requirements of the European Union. With the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the requirements for how companies must structure their sustainability reporting in the future are increasing.

The initiative for the directive comes from the EU. The aim of the CSRD is to oblige companies and corporate groups to document their impacts on the environment and society more comprehensively. Step by step, CSRD-compliant reporting will become mandatory for almost all larger European companies (around 50,000!) in the coming years. Which company has to report from when and for which year depends on three criteria: the number of employees, annual revenue, and the annual balance sheet total.

We help you understand the exact requirements and deadlines and support you in selecting CSRD software or ESG consulting.

Even if you are not yet legally obliged to provide sustainability reporting, keep in mind that sustainability is becoming an increasingly important factor for a company’s image. A CSRD-compliant sustainability report strengthens the trust of your stakeholders, such as customers, employees, and investors, in what you do.

With this check, we help you answer these two questions free of charge: Are we affected by the CSRD? And if so, when are we required to report? If you are affected by multiple laws or regulations, we recommend our ESG Compliance Check.

The CSRD requirement for companies in most cases arises from these questions: How many employees do you have? What is your annual net turnover? What is your annual balance sheet total? In most cases, answering these three questions is already sufficient. In some cases, however, there are special rules depending on the sector or the size of the company.

Even if you are not legally required to produce sustainability reporting, keep in mind that sustainability is becoming an increasingly important factor for a company’s image. With a CSRD-compliant sustainability report, you strengthen the trust of your stakeholders—such as customers, employees and investors—in your actions.

Briefly answer these questions and our ESG expert team will send you the results by email.
